Ways You Can Help Your Children Succeed in School
Home work is not easy. You know that, having gone through elementary, high school and college, with mountain of homework all the way.
When a parent is involved in their children’s schools and home work, the children do better in school.
Parents can certainly play a major role in providing the encouragement, environment, and materials necessary for successful studying to take place.
A lot of studies show that the involvement of a parent is more important in a child development and success than how much money the family makes.
Here are a few tips that could help your child succeed in school:
1.Getting involved in your children’s life is getting to know their teachers better.
2.Meetings- Attending parents – teacher’s conferences. You can be updated on this meeting.
3.Volunteer at your child school.
4.Demonstrate a positive attitude about education.
5.Monitor your child television, video games, and internet use.
6.Encourage your child to read.
7.Set a regular time for homework.
8.Remove distractions when it is homework time.
9.Be available.
10.Help your child get organized.
11.Provide a study corner with a lots of resource materials. Having a special place to study will give them motivation.
12.See that your child schedules enough time for assignments.
13. When your child starts doing their homework, let them start with the easy things first, then move onto a smaller amount of harder assignments. Remember to look over your child’s homework and help when needed - but don’t do the work.
14. Remember, children need encouragement for doing well. Let them know when they’ve done a good job.
15. Help your child prepare for tests.
16. Encourage active learning: School play, Museums and bookstores.
